Azalea Sands Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Azalea Sands Golf Course first opened for play in 1972. The course was designed by Gene Hamm.
This is basically your standard municipal golf course. If you're staying nearby, or are a novice looking for an inexpensive "starter" course to work on your game, this might be a good option. You can play here for $35 (or less) for green fees, cart and taxes.
The course has wide fairways and well-bunkered greens. The design also includes strategically-placed lakes that come into play on eight holes, as well as trees and sand bunkers that will test your shot-making abilities. The signature hole is #5, a 195-yard, par 3, requiring a shot over a lake to a well-bunkered green.

The condition of the course is not very good, but at least this is reflected in the price which is relatively inexpensive.

$10 (cart included), played on Saturday, April 2015 at 3:40 PM
I'll start off by saying that I played the course late in the day as things were wrapping up for the evening. I paid less than $10 with cart for the 9 hole round. What I did not expect as I approached to green was to see a 12" hole cut into the green. I a slightly better than average player, I can see the benefit; pace of play, great for beginners, ability to drink more without it affecting your score much. I was looking for much more of a challenge and you can't get that when you don't have to consider the putting line or speed. It also would have been nice to have been told about the cups beforehand. I will mark this one of my "must play" list, unless I'm bringing my kids along.
